the world is a smaller, lonelier place today. i lost my companion of almost 17 years, close to half my life. Hardy came into my life when I was 24, and for those 17 years he was with me almost around the clock. it's going to be tough for a while.
i am happy for him, he's no longer blind, deaf or lame. i'm sure there are rabbits to chase, and every treat he ever wanted.

I'm so sad and sorry to hear that. I'm getting all teary eyed writting this...
I remember Newt a little bit. I can remember in Arizona him being fenced in by that white gate.
I think it was Newt that would find us after we hid under the covers.
I remember Chauncy and Hardy the most. I remember them running around your yard in Wellsville, didn't they eat the firecrackers you threw at them?
I have lots of good memories of your dogs and the house in Wellsville, they kinda go together.
Hardy was such a good dog. Even though I haven't been around for a while, I will miss him too.
Poor guy. It is a good thing now for him, he was getting so old and I'm sure he is happy to be with the other dogs and be able to run around again just like he used to when we'd go camping. Very sad to hear because I hardly remember a time that there wasn't a Hardy or Chauncey... But I guess it helps to just remember that all things have to pass. I'll miss the pup.

What a sad day - but it is good for Hardy. He was getting so old and unable to do the fun things he loved. I'm sorry to hear that Troy, it must be way hard - especially since he was around for so long.

Thanks everybody, my heart just isn't in blogging right now. I'm doing ok, and getting better as time passes. It's been tough.
