I LIKE MITT, BUT HE'S TOO PERFECT.

"I mean if he'd just muss up his hair, put on a leather jacket and smoke a cigarette"

"never had a serious argument with his wife of 38 years, I mean, come on!"

Are you hearing the same things I am? I pay attention to the news, I have a lot of supposedly conservative radio people I listen to, I read a ton of blogs and I seem to be hearing that sentiment over and over again.

It drives me nuts.

Last night on the debate there was a hint of it from Julie. He called Mitt "holier than thou" and put forth the idea that Mitt thought he was perfect. Please.

Here's a quote from the LA Times:

" By central-casting standards, the former Massachusetts governor is the perfect presidential specimen -- a comforting throwback to the 1950s, when nobody got divorced (they fell in love in high school and that was it), mothers stayed at home (he dubbed Ann the Romney CFO -- chief family officer) and the greatest parental challenge was making the boys practice their piano (Ann used to pinch their necks ).
But as his campaign picks up speed in a wide-open Republican field, Romney comes face to handsome face with an unusual challenge: Can a candidate appear too perfect? It's a question that modern American voters, fed a steady diet of infidelity, divorce, pot smoking, high-class call girls and foil-wrapped cash stashed in freezers, have not had to ponder in a long time. "

Why do people have a problem with someone who's actually able to pull off a moral life? I've thought about it and I have my own ideas, but I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts . . .

I believe that deep down, like the spirit of christ that is always with everyone, tells them when they are making bad choices, but then they can't stand to see someone else doing so well, that they have to try to drag the other one down! Thats so sad!

There's this x-LDS guy who has an anti-LDS show on here 'Heart of the Matter' - sometimes I watch just to hear his reasoning. He said we get more people fighting against us than smoking, drinking, child abusers do because we are the church of Satan...hmm...don't think so. I believe people can't accept good moral behavior for many reasons - the Gospel is true, of course Satan is going to fight hard against it and use everything in his power - including confusing people from seeing & accepting the truth & good in things. Elicia already covered my other argument...Glad you're back Troy! I love getting on my soap box. =)
