Wow...a whole hearted AMEN from over here. If only more people coule see the big picture and stand up for what's right. This reminded me of something else that I think American's do that is sometimes too accommadating...and I'm sure I'll sound very racist. But I hate how we make it our responsibility to learn spanish to accommodate all the imigrants from the south - that doesn't help them at all. They're in America - they should learn English and they'll be more successful! If I moved to a foreign country I wouldn't expect them to learn my language, I would expect myself to learn their language to survive...drives me nuts!
I have a friend who is married to an Equadorian. He speaks Spanish in the home, so she has never learned English very well. Her job is also mostly Spanish speaking, so she gets no practice. They just spent about $2000 to get her citizenship taken care of, but she flunked the exam. She knows the answers, but she can't speak English well enough. Very sad.

i've been out of "the country" for the last week, and I started watching it but am just too wiped out from flying all day to pay much attention. so i'll have to come check this out in a day or so.
