TEXAS RAID DEFIES LOGIC
Here's a link to an interesting opinion piece. Bob Lonsberry
I'm thinking about all this as I'm headed off to an area in Utah where some of these people live.

i don't buy it. i don't know much about how the whole thing was handled, he makes it sound like it was very negative. i suppose it is possible that they might have handled it better, but i don't buy the stuff about nothing being wrong with what was going on. everything i've heard about their practices makes me sick to my stomach to think people are living that way.
First...I think that guy kind of looks like you, weird. Must be the hair.
I sure would like to know where he got his information on the mothers being ushered away without saying goodbye to their kids - I'd never heard that before. Too bad he doesn't site anything.
Also, I'd heard on multiple news reports that there was an informant that had been working with a detective for the last 4 years - so it was more than just a random phone call.
Regardless, I think what was going on did need to be stopped. But I also think taking the children away from their parents will be incredibly devistating not only to the kids - but to the welfare system. Not quite sure how something like this should be handled...but I know it's wrong for us to just sit back and let it happen. He talks about constitutional rights - what about the rights of the kids?! Pretty sure those were being violated...
Reluctantly stepping down from soap box now. =)

They also at one point took everyone's cell phone when pics of the terrible condition of the shelter got out. Nice touch.
