DENVER 9-12 RALLY
I realized that I hadn't posted about the 9-12 rally here in Denver last Saturday. I decided to take my security detail and spend a few hours at the rally. We drove in and parked about 5 blocks away. I was glad to have my security detail with me as we saw a few groups that would be intimidating any day of the week, let alone a conservative rally day. No President O, it had nothing to do with color. It was the groups of drunks and drug dealers. We saw at least one drug deal go down on the short walk to the capital building. But then again having pot in Denver is hardly a crime anymore.

Once we got to the capital building it was wonderful. Great turn out - around 4,000 people. Keep in mind this is mainly a 9-12 rally, a little different than the Tea Party back on tax day that drew 10,000. There were great speakers and bands that played. It was easy to spend 3 hours just hanging out.
I bought my security detail (Greta) a "DONT TREAD ON ME" flag and attached it to her harness. She was a hit and got tons of pets and photographs taken. I've been looking on the net and found a lot of photos of the rally, but none of the pooch yet! Bummer. I took my camera but only got one pic before the batteries died. :(
I've got to say one thing about the group that showed up. I saw people of all walks of life. Young, old, long hair, short hair, and of every kind of background you can imagine. Doctors, lawyers and goof-offs like me. There were little kids playing and having a good time. Everyone had a smile on their face. I felt totally at home.

Remember the pic below? This is the National Mall area in Washing DC after the Presidential Inauguration a few months ago. SEE PREVIOUS POST

The following photos were taken after the 9-12 Rally in DC last Saturday. Like they say, worth a thousand words each.

As I left the rally here in Denver, there were people with trash bags collecting trash. I can guarantee you that the capitol grounds were cleaner after the rally than before. But remember it's the conservatives who love pollution and want to kill the planet.

Some accounts say there were "tens of thousands" of people, others say there were over 2 million.

I found a great slide show on FaceBook of the rally
Give it a look and please seriously consider getting educated and working to restore the country for our children and grandchildren. Drop me a note if you need a place to get started.

grr, i should have made plans sooner to go to our rally at our capitol . . . but i was stupid and didn't think about it! oh well, i'm there in spirit!

if you see a picture of greta be sure to post it! i really want to get a don't tread on me flag and put it out on our house - i think we have one of those attachments for a flag pole.

what are your suggestions for helping out? all i really do now is listen to glenn beck, yell at the screen when i watch glenn beck (or, really, any news), and read whatever books he recommends that i can find here (we have a SAD lot to choose from here in our libraries). oh, and keep a detailed record in my journal because he said that was important.

gee, i sure get a lot of information from beck. i wonder if that makes me a mindless zombie (actually, it's just that i don't really trust the others enough to listen to them).

It sounds like you're doing just fine Dianna!

Educate those around you - fire off a letter, fax or email to your representatives. Make some noise!

Wow, those liberals sure trashed the mall...pretty interesting to compare photos. Wish I could've gone to the rally!

D - I get emails from the Cache Valley Tea Party group - if you want some info on what you can do locally, let me know & I'll forward the contact info to you so you can get on their mailing list. Some really great opportunities! We could go to meetings together! =)
