I GOT LOCKED OUT

Greta and I take long walks on Saturday and Sunday. Today after church I decided we'd drive up to Red Rocks and walk around there for our outing. The kids were gone to the student ward, Robin was asleep so it was just the two of us. We got ready and I grabbed my phone and camera, made sure I had my wallet. I got all of Greta's stuff, I swear it's like getting a diaper bag together. I checked to make sure the house was locked and we were off. We got as far as the car before I realized I didn't have the keys. Great. I could ring the door bell and wake Robin up but that wouldn't be good. So Greta and I decided to walk in the neighborhood. We walked over to Aspen Grove shopping center, it's an upper-crust group of fancy stores. There's even an Apple store there.
We walked by all the stores - even Coldstone. Greta loves ice cream but it's sunday so we didn't stop. We like to take the pooch to all kinds of different places for training.

In this photo we're practicing just watching and not moving. Greta is really good at this unless it's a dog or a very little kid. After we walked the shopping center we walked back home on the green strip the runs along the Plat Canyon River that's just behind our house. It's great to have that so close, we get access to open area and lots of wildlife.

On the way we got to see a couple of riders and horses. Greta is a little afraid of horses but she's still interested in them from a distance.

Yes, that jogger is wearing shorts. Can I say that I love winters here in Denver? :) It was really nice out there today. Yesterday we almost hit 60.

Last leg on the trip. This is the lake out behind our house. We live on the far side of the water. It's really been nice to have that lake out there. When we moved into our house it was a gravel pit with lots of dust and noise. So much nicer this way!

When we got home Elicia was here and the door was open! Yay! All in all we walked just over six miles or at least that's what Google Maps tells me. Nice dog walk!

that's such a fun walk! i always say i'd love a dog as an excuse to do more walking . . . it'd be less lonely! and i can't believe the weather you have . . jeff just shoveled mid-calf high snow yesterday, thank you very much!
Looks like a fun walk. I was just thinking I bet it was so cold walking. but then you said the 60 part. :)
