THUNDERSTORM!
We had a thunderstorm come through the other day. Robin and I were out doing some shopping when it happened but Elicia was home. :) When we got home she was hiding in the basement, and I thought was kind of shell shocked. She said it was really loud and scary. Yeah, yeah. Loud and scary. wee.
Then over the weekend I talked to a neighbor who said lightning had struck the tree across the street!!!
This is the view from the front porch. The tree to the right of the flag is the one that was struck.
It's hard to see in the pic at this size, but there is a mark from the top of the tree all the way down to the ground where the lightning traveled. It's not burned, but blown out. Wild.
Guess Elicia had a right to complain at how violent the storm was :)
Oh, and just for fun :)
And in this one, the tree looks similar to the one across the street.

just so everyone knows, i was asleep when it started. so it defenitaly surprised me!
thats really scary. I always like a good light show but that's a bit too close! I remember the one in illinois really well but I don't remember the way it sounded so well.
